EDCO Group Inc. Launches Ideation Program

Beginning March 23, 2012 Amanda Ritter, Customer Relationship Manager, and Jim Horton, Vice President, Operations, started a new incentive program for EDCO Group Inc. employees, the Ideation program. Ideation is designed to reward employees who share ideas to make the organization more efficient. With the formal implementation of the program, the company has been flooded with ideas.  To date, EDCO has rewarded nine employees for suggestions made.

One such idea came from Corey Voss. Voss submitted the idea of a 10-key training program. This program is designed to increase the speed of operators using the 10-key on their keyboard.  A team at EDCO is currently working to implement this suggestion and the results are expected to be seen quickly.

EDCO is not just helping itself with this program. Mary Corlett, Destruction Manager, suggested a community outreach with the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield. Corlett’s son is a member of the Boys and Girls Club, which gives her first-hand knowledge of the good work these clubs do throughout America. Corlett, who is in charge of EDCO’s shredding program, is starting a recycling program to benefit the Boys and Girls Club. EDCO containers will be at Club sites throughout the community to collect documents for secure recycling. In addition, EDCO plans to offer shredding services to patrons of the club and donate money collected to the Boys and Girls Club. Because of Corlett’s work with the agency, EDCO and ABI employees receive a 10 percent tuition break annually.
